Role Overview:
As an Autonomous Flight Systems Engineer, you will design, test, and refine algorithms that power AeroVector’s autonomous drones. This role requires expertise in sensor fusion, real-time navigation, flight-control logic, and autonomous operations. You’ll collaborate with robotics engineers, hardware teams, and data scientists to deliver high-stability flight systems capable of operating in complex and dynamic environments.


Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, test, and implement autonomous flight-control algorithms for multi-rotor and fixed-wing drones.
• Build and optimize sensor fusion models using IMU, LiDAR, GPS, and computer-vision inputs.
• Conduct flight simulations and real-world test missions to evaluate stability and performance.
• Integrate navigation, obstacle-avoidance, and decision-making systems.
• Work closely with hardware and software teams on system integration and tuning.
• Troubleshoot drone behaviors and optimize control loops for extreme weather and terrain conditions.
• Document system architecture, testing standards, and performance metrics.


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or Control Systems.
• 5+ years of experience in autonomous flight systems or robotics control.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, ROS, PX4/ArduPilot, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong knowledge of SLAM, EKF, or real-time sensor fusion.
• Experience with embedded systems and real-time flight controllers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
