Role Overview:
As a Sports Performance Data Scientist, you will analyze large-scale biometric, workload, and motion datasets to uncover performance trends and injury risk indicators. You will work closely with sports scientists, engineers, and team practitioners to translate complex data into actionable insights for coaches and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build predictive models for injury risk, fatigue, and performance optimization.
• Analyze biometric, GPS, and workload datasets from professional athletes.
• Collaborate with sports scientists to validate analytical findings.
• Design dashboards and reports for coaches and performance staff.
• Develop algorithms to identify training inefficiencies and recovery needs.
• Continuously refine models using real-world athlete feedback.
• Support research initiatives in applied sports analytics.
Qualifications:
• Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Sports Science, or related discipline.
• 4–7 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in sports or health domains.
• Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
• Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.
• Familiarity with wearable sensor data and performance metrics.
• Strong communication skills for non-technical stakeholders.
