Role Overview:
As an Ocean Mapping Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design, integration, and deployment of sonar-based mapping systems and underwater sensor networks. You will work closely with marine scientists, survey teams, and data analysts to ensure accurate seabed and coastal data collection.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and configure multibeam and side-scan sonar systems.
• Lead deployment and calibration of underwater mapping equipment.
• Support offshore and nearshore survey operations.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues.
• Collaborate with data teams to validate mapping accuracy.
• Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
• Contribute to the development of next-generation ocean mapping technologies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in ocean mapping or marine systems engineering.
• Hands-on experience with sonar, bathymetry, or hydrographic survey tools.
• Knowledge of marine instrumentation and sensor integration.
• Ability to participate in offshore fieldwork and vessel-based operations.
• Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills.
