About Us
The local section 1991-P of TUAC represents nearly 6,500 members in more than 80 companies. Affiliated with the FTQ, we are the largest union in the food and commerce sector in Quebec. Our members work in a variety of sectors including food processing, distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.
Position Overview
We are looking for a committed, rigorous, and motivated person to join our team as a Union Representative in a collaborative, respectful, and human-centered work environment focused on defending and supporting our members.
Key Responsibilities
Support members in work-related issues
Assist union delegates
Manage complaints and grievances, follow up on cases
Collaborate with lawyers and draft necessary documents
Participate in collective bargaining and union mobilization
Engage in union activities and committees
Required Skills
Strong French communication skills (other languages a plus)
Handle sensitive or conflict situations with discretion
Manage multiple cases, prioritize, and follow up
Plan, structure, and analyze cases effectively
Collaborate and exercise leadership
Maintain confidentiality and respect sensitive information
Desired Knowledge
Knowledge of labor laws.
Knowledge of unions and their structures.
Knowledge of rules of evidence applicable in administrative tribunals.
Requirements
Hold and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
Availability as needed, including evening or weekend meetings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort with digital tools.
Working Conditions
Salary and benefits according to the current collective agreement.
Flexible schedule depending on needs and ongoing cases.
Salary: From $65,000 per year
