Job Summary
As the Registered Practical Nurse, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team, who is expected to ensure the safety and security of the resident environment, to practice in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario professional standards, and the policies and procedures as defined by LOFT Community Services.
Key Responsibilities
Provides direct nursing care with medications as defined by the College of Nursing Practice including administration of medications, transcribing medical orders, maintaining medication systems, identifying changes in behaviour, participating in service planning, liaising with healthcare providers, maintaining records, participating in on-call rotation, and supporting interdisciplinary care delivery.
Qualifications
Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario; Graduate of a recognized program for Registered Practical Nurse; Medication Administration Certification; First Aid and CPR certification; Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
Experience Requirements
Experience with vulnerable older adults and seniors with serious mental illness, cognitive, addiction and responsive behavioural challenges.
Skills & Competencies
Problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, counselling and assessment skills, oral and written communication skills, computer literacy including MS Word and Excel, ability to collaborate effectively with inter-professional care teams.
