Position
Registered Nurse (RN) – General Medicine Unit
Role Overview
The RN provides safe, compassionate, and patient-focused nursing care within the General Medicine Unit, working collaboratively with an inter-professional health care team in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
Deliver safe, patient-centred nursing care
Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergencies
Provide health education and discharge instructions
Maintain infection prevention and control practices
Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams
Support continuity of care in the community
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years acute medicine experience (last 5 years)
Geriatric care experience preferred
Knowledge of COPD, inhalers, nebulizer therapy
Experience with IV therapy, wound care, NG/TPN, tracheostomy, chest tubes preferred
Core Competencies
Current registration with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
BCLS certification required
Strong communication, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments
Leadership, collaboration, and patient-family education skills
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Strong understanding of patient safety and workplace health standards
Schedule & Salary
Full-time
Day/Night shifts (8 & 12 hours, including weekends & holidays)
Salary: $40.24 – $57.68 per hour
